The Wader

Another awful day weather wise on Tuesday. Strong winds and heavy rain being the order of the day. However there was a break in the weather around 4.00 pm so I decided to pay a visit to Entwistle Reservoir, which is fairly local to me. The idea of a long exposure to capture some movement in the clouds and water whilst using the structure of the Wader in the foreground as main focus. The Wader is a metal structure of a heron situated on the north shore side of the reservoir. I have seen a few nice images of this sculpture recently so I decided to head out to capture my interpretation. The water was extremely choppy and clouds moving well. I took a few shots this evening using my umbrella to shield my camera from the strong winds. My favourite shot was taken as the sunset that materialised was reflected on the water creating the georgous light in the scene. It didn't last long but it was long enough time to capture the image below.
Nikon D7100, Nikor 16-85mm @ F11, ISO 100, 110 sec exposure using a 6 Stop ND Hitech Formatt filter and Hoya polorizing filter.
