I seem to have an emotional or some could say obsessional attachment to a particular tree in Yorkshire. I have visited this location a number of times now. I had a vision of how I wanted to capture the scene and each time I visited the location mother nature wasn’t really playing ball.
Just recently the weather has been very changeable so one morning last week I left early to go and hopefully capture this tree and the scene as I imagined.
As I was driving through Yorkshire I noticed how the light was changing and moving around the landscape so I became extremely excited and hopeful that I might capture what I had set out to do.
Once I arrived at the location and set up my composition, I remember thinking how lucky I was to be here in the moment. I watched as the clouds broke and let through the light that projected onto the landscape of Ribblehead and Whernside.
With lots of patience and persistence eventually I was rewarded when from no where a beam of light illuminated the tree and limestone before me. Fantastic !!! I pressed the shutter release and took the exposure.
I was recently made aware of this location by watching a YouTube video by 1st Man Photography which featured Charlie Waite. Its a superb location and being no stranger to the Yorkshire Dales I knew exactly where I was heading. Just recently I had also attended a talk by Charlie Waite in Sale of which I thoroughly enjoyed.
